CanSat - Satellite in a Cola can

Matěj Kozák

J-Sat is a minisatellite created by a team of six students within the framework of the CanSat competition organized by ESERO under the auspices of the European Space Agency (ESA).

On the right is an original can from ESA, which for many reasons did not suit us, mainly due to limited access to electronics.
In the middle is the intermediate stage of our current version, which consists of 3 main parts: Washer, tube and lid. This version was based on the ESA original, and it turned out that we can use much more space when using our design.
On the left is our final version of the J-SAT MK1, which has a larger workspace spacing compared to the first larger pitch of the construction posts. At the same time, we reduced the wall thickness from 3 mm to 2 mm. All parts are printed from ABS plastic.
